I can do novice steward for both morning and afternoon. I’ll try to get there to help with set-up too! I can take on other duties as needed.

I can do Novice Steward. I will need to leave at 9:00 to pick up my daughters at GSP. Any chance I could run in the first group?

Assuming this event s the 9th not the 6th. I will gladly be Novice Steward. I can also work during the event as needed: Course, grid, etc.

The big question is why the Communications Officer has not entered this event?

Hey folks! I’m going to miss this one. Have a family matter to address. I’m sure someone will step up to be Novice Steward.

I can get some smaller blue barrels with lids. They are about 15 gallons. I get them from work once the contents are emptied. The smaller size would make it easier to get material to where it’s needed. Just grab a barrel and go. I’ve put the word out, but it might be a week or two before I have them.

Confirming for Novice Steward. I also volunteered to assist with grid to help the new flow (when I’m not running).

Lots of good information here that will make events more fun and safer.

Regarding gridding cars at an angle without backing in. This could be done, but would require we use the middle of the grid lane with driving lanes where the parking spots are at the periphery. No problem with that. The limiting factor is how much room is there? How many cars can we handle doing that? I have not counted the spaces available down there. It still leaves 2 driver cars backing into their grid spots.

As for angle parking, we could force all drivers to go all the way to the end of grid, turn around and come back to their grid spot. This would make backing at an angle easy. It still results in a lot of movement in grid, although not any more than we had Tuesday night.

Stephan Haupt suggested moving the two driver cars away from the starting area. That worked out much better during the second run group.

The grid is along barn B. That barn has a pass-through near the middle. I propose to grid two driver cars beyond that along the barn side. Then grid everyone else on both sides moving down the hill. This will keep the area clear where car come off course and allows room for more cars to stage, keeping the event moving.

You all did a great job! We performed some process improvement in the grid during the night. Can’t do that until we uncover what does not work.

I do like the idea of using more of the parking lot for the course. That opens up a lot more options for course design.
