February 2021 Zoom Meeting
Membership, we have 31 total memberships, 20 single and 11 family roughly. Financial report, we have money. The club now has a points bearing credit card on which recurring expenses will be charged and paid off the following month. Business cards have been designed and approved, just need to order them. Hotspot data plan hasn’t been established, but we’re looking into prepaid options using our old hotspot. Event points, all events this year as of this moment are points events and will contribute to a day series and night series points championship. Novices, we will redouble our effort to provide support to novices through the use of volunteers willing to help coach new drivers in our sport. Also decided was that annual tech requirements will be reduced to 1 year instead of 2 years experience. Keith has offered to tow for the night series. Brian dickens has offered to tow for day series, Cam can tow if provided a tow vehicle. Car guy garage sponsorship, we were offered an affiliate link to a website based out of chicago offering higher end car person merchandise. We’ve countered to see if he will be willing to sponsor a spot on the trailer in return. Some simple bright officer shirts are being looked into to more easily identify officers and officials at an event. Quotes will be retrieved once we have a rough idea of sizes needed.

Hey Gerry, thanks for posting. There’s plenty of options out here for car guys to enjoy. Frank mentioned a couple of the tracks and clubs that are around us, there’s also the proposed Oak Ridge Motorsports park in TN that won’t be too far away when it’s finished. There’s a couple more tracks further away too, like NCM which is super technical and a bunch of fun to run. WNC also has some of the nicest driving roads, including the dragon which is a short-ish drive away. If you’re a beer person, this is also an awesome place to live since we have a ton of great local breweries. Plenty of great food options too.
Like Keith said, if you’re interested in looking for a place, give Hunter a call. He can give you a good overview of the market and what’s available.
Hope to see you out here soon!

I went and checked it out the other day before work and I think it’s going to be a bit too small. There’s light poles which you can just barely see on the screenshot I posted strewn throughout the place.

After talking to a few former officers of the club, I believe we looked into this maybe 5-6 years ago (when it first opened?) but there wasn’t much interest in allowing autocross there. There might be some options for courses, but I think we’d need to walk the site to be sure.

August Meeting
Treasurer report – Revenue was over $2000 for the NS5, net was around $1240. We should be fine on money for the remainder of events.
Autocross report – NS5 had 81 attendees, things seemed to run well. Timing ran mostly without glitches, though a few fixes are in the works to prevent any further problems that could crop up.
Constitution and bylaws have been updated on the website. Reimbursement check for the TRSSS event is on its way. Facebook ads for the last NS produced 40 responses, with an estimated 20 or so people coming to the event as a result. In total, they reached 2168 people for only ~$20. We’ll plan to continue ads, spending double on day series events in order to attract more people. Daniel reached out to Darryl “Killboy” Cannon of…well, Killboy. We’ll plan to pass our schedule along to them for next year so that they can post it on their calendar since they’re just an hour away. We may also look into doing some cross promotion with them.
Club flag project is being finished up, Shannon is controlling that project. We’re looking into doing stickers and/or t-shirts with TCS Printing. Keith is going to look into that and report back. NCAC is coming up soon. Parking should be fine up to about 100 entrants. Officers and volunteers will be needed to help run the event.
Officer nominations will be coming up soon, many key positions will be available. Luke will not be available to serve as treasurer, and Cameron and Cody will also likely not be available for autocross chair duties.

My availability for next tuesday is questionable at the moment due to champcar bs. Put me down tentatively for timing, but someone may need to end up filling in for setup/timing if we’re doing last minute stuff before leaving.

I have the files and have edited them for an additional course assignment. I’ll pass them along to someone with a printer.
