This is a clean example of a 94 Mazda Miata, around 157k miles (will continue to go up.) It’s been built roughly to the limit of STS (the only thing lacking would be bushings,) and was largely a no expenses spared build at that.
Exterior is mostly clean with typical scratches and dents of a 24yr old car that’s been autocrossed heavily, but is clear of any fading which is typical of red Mazdas of the 90’s. Top is new as of earlier this year and is still in like-new condition. Interior is also clean (The tears in the seat seen in the pictures have been repaired by swapping a new seat cover on that seat.) The engine is in great shape and original to the car. Timing belt and water pump were replaced roughly 8,000 miles ago. I had the oil tested by Blackstone to determine how well it was holding up and will put a copy of the report on this ad. I’ve been running Amsoil XL 10W-40 for the last 15k miles, which seems to have been handling 8k rpm well.
Modifications:
Racing Beat Intake
Racing Beat Header
Enthuza 100 Cell High-flow Cat
Racing Beat Race Exhaust
Megasquirt Standalone ECU (Tuned by Tony Szirka of UMS Tuning in Arizona)
Ohlins DFV Coilovers (Custom valved and rebuilt by Ohlins in February of this year)
Swift Springs 12K/8K (~700lb/in, 450lb/in)
ISC Front Sway Bar
Two Sets of wheels
14×6 Mazda semi-hollow 7 spoke wheels with 185-60/14 General Altimax All Seasons
15×7.5 Konig Hypergram with well-used 225-45/15 BFG Rival S 1.5 (Roughly 109 runs and under 1500 street milesAlso included:
Kenwood single din head unit (One of the best aftermarket radios I’ve used)Rockford Fosgate speakers (Sounds excellent for a 2 channel system)
Note: The tire rack that is pictured on this car is not included in the sale. I’d like to keep it for my next car. If you want one, they’re readily available through Garage Star and easy to install.
This is an easy to drive car, and a cheap way to get into a strong pax car that can also rival some cars in FTD at our courses. I’ve done very well with this car at regional events at ETR and CCR, as well as National Match Tour events. There’s no doubt in my mind that with a little bit more work and fine tuning, you could have a car that has a chance of winning the National Championship. This is also a very fun to drive car in general, and wouldn’t be out of place on a winding mountain road.

Wanted to share a couple my favorite runs in this car.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ty1R68Ls9NU – CCR #7

I also forgot to mention in the original ad that the motor mounts were done early this year when the top was replaced using Mazdaspeed Competition mounts. Also, the brakes on the car are Autozone GT up front and Carbotech AX6 in the rear. The different compounds help overcome the lack of ABS.
Please feel free to contact me if you’re interested at all. I’ll be happy to answer any questions and will entertain reasonable offers.

Bump! The car had its last event down in SC this last weekend, finishing 1st in class (by 3s, I might add,) 5th out of 111 in pax (behind 4 national level drivers) and 10th out of 111 in raw. This is not a slow car, this is a get in and drive car that’ll get you great finishes easily. And it’s price doesn’t even come close to what it would cost to rebuild it.
Let me know if you have any questions!
