Description:
Yamaha RC-100 racing go-kart – likely made between 1979 and 1981. This kart has been owned by many local motorsports enthusiasts and autocross racers. Used in the 2018 HSCC autocross series to post VERY competitive times in its class, it handles great and runs strong.
Chassis: solid shaft live axle, rear disc brake, original on-board fuel tank. Paint and body are in fair/good condition – appropriate given its age and use. Includes padded seat cover for a smooth ride.
Engine: Predator 212 single-cylinder 4-stroke (Honda clone) has many upgraded parts to improve performance and reliability: billet piston connecting rod, billet flywheel, camshaft, valve springs and pushrods, fuel pump, oil catch can, top plate (for throttle setup and fuel pump mount), re-jetted carburetor and performance air filter. Internal RPM governor has been removed to increase max. horsepower. Purchase paperwork on-hand for most of the upgraded components – totaling $500+ in engine upgrades. Garage-kept and lovingly cared for, this kart would best be suited for a vintage kart enthusiast who can appreciate the classic design and still-competitive racing performance of the Yamaha RC100. This kart is not designed for dirt-track racing and is not suitable (nor legal) for use a neighborhood street cruiser.
NOTES:
Auxiliary engine cut-off switch has a broken wire – needs re-soldered. There is a “primary” engine cut-off switch on the engine housing.
Inline fuel shut-off valve has a “loose” lever, prone to movement from engine & road vibration.
Wheels could use some fresh bearings and leak-free sealant. Tires have some life remaining.
Upgraded camshaft does not have “compression relief” feature – so pull-starting requires some strength and commitment.

CASH ONLY for local pickup in the Asheville, NC area. $700 O.B.O. for the rolling chassis w/o engine. $950 O.B.O. for the whole package, including the modified/upgraded Predator 212 engine.
