The nice thing about a Heavy Duty compact scissor style jack is they usually work just fine even if they have been sitting for years.
Scissor style jacks typically require less clearance to fit under the frame rail and have more lift range.
If you are stuck on the side of the road with a flat on your trailer any jack that will work is likely to be pressed into service.
